WHY ARE SOLAR PANELS SPECIAL? by Augustas Keblikas My subject of the research is Solar panels. They’ve been around since 1878 when Augustin Mouchot first introduced solar power generator. I’m going to analyze what makes them so special and what’s the science behind them. KEY TERMS Conductor - material that has ability to conduct electricity (gold, copper); Insulator - material that ability to block flow of electricity (glass, clay); Semiconducto r- material that has an electrical conductivity value witch falls between conductor (gold, copper) and insulator (glass, clay); Covalent bonding - chemical bond between two atoms that involves the sharing of electron pairs between atoms; Photovoltaic- material that has ability to convert light to electricity; BIPV - Building-integrated Photovoltaics; CdTe - Cadmium Telluride; TFSC- Thin-Film Solar Cells; SUMMARY Solar panels are made out of semiconductor material. Special types of specific semiconductin

Cloning of Humans By Emilija Šaltytė Introduction In this summary I will present the issues related to human cloning, to be more precise, the process of cloning, the scientist achievements in this field and reasons why cloning of humans have been banned in many countries. Key Terms: Cloning - the process of producing a clone. Therapeutic cloning - the permitted creation of cloned human tissues for surgical transplant. Reproductive cloning - the cloning of organisms of an adult female and this creating a new organism. DNA (desoxyribonucleic acid) - a long linear polymer found in the nucleus of a cell and formed from nucleotides and shaped like a double helix; associated with the transmission of genetic information. Somatic cell - one of the cells that take part in the formation of the body, becoming differentiated into the various tissues, organs. Embryos - the young of a viviparous animal, especially of a mammal, in the early stages of development within

The History of Genetic Engineering By Goda Ponomariovait ė Introduction In this summary, I will present a short timeline of genetic engineering history. The genetic modification has started many centuries ago in agriculture because people wanted to make their crops more fertile. Nowadays genetic engineering is more improved. Not long ago genetic organisms and food appeared. Human clones were also developed. Key terms Genetic engineering - is the process of altering the DNA in an organism’s genome. https://www.yourgenome.org/facts/what-is-genetic-engineering Genetically modified organism - is any organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. GMOs are used to produce many medications and genetically modified foods and are widely used in scientific research and the production of other goods. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetically_modified_organism Manipulation in chemistry -    create/generate, shape and manipulate chem

Quantum Levitation and the Opportunities it Possesses By Kotryna Kiznyt ė INTRODUCTION The topic analysed is quantum levitation. The purpose of this summary is to brief one about the numerous applications that quantum levitation provides. KEY TERMS Quantum Physics - the branch of physics concerned with quantum theory. Superconductor - a material that conducts electricity with no resistance. Maglev trains- trains using magnetic levitation process. Maglev – magnetic levitation. Carbon dioxide  is a colourless, odourless and non-poisonous gas formed by combustion of carbon and in the respiration of living organisms and is considered a greenhouse gas Emission  - the production and discharge of something, especially gas or radiation. Sustainable - able to be maintained at a certain rate or level. SUMMARY   The quantum levitation or, more accurately, quantum locking is relatively a new field of physics which is not fully researched. Thu

THE POTENTIAL OF CYBERNETICS   byJoris Strončikas                         ( academic expressions - *expression*) My subject of the research is Cybernetics and I’m going to analyze my subtopic: its potential . *In this summary, I  put forward  the  claim  that* the areas of Cybernetics that I’m going to analyze are Biohacking and Body modification . Key terms: Transdisciplinarity, Biohacking, Body modification, Biopunk , Grinders, Cyborgs. ·                    What is Cybernetics? (According to Wikipedia) *The  data appears to suggest  that* Cybernetics  is a   transdisciplinary ( transdisciplinarity  connotes a research strategy that crosses many  disciplinary  boundaries to create a  holistic  approach) approach for exploring regulatory  systems —their  structures , constraints, and possibilities.  Norbert Wiener  defined cybernetics in 1948 as "the scientific study of control and communication in the animal and the machine." In the 21st cen

Cold War Spy Gadgets   by Dominykas Juodelis In this summary I will present an overview of the spies during the Cold War, why they were so crucial and important during this time and what gadgets / tools they needed to succeed in their mission. I will present you seven most important gadgets and I will explain why they were a must have for spies. Key Words: Cold War - A state of geopolitical tension after World War II between powers in the Eastern Bloc and powers in the Western Bloc Spy - A person engaged in espionage, obtaining information that is considered secret or confidential CIA - A civilian foreign intelligence service of the United States federal government, tasked with gathering, processing, and analyzing national security information from around the world KGB - The main security agency for the Soviet Union from 1954 until its break-up in 1991 Espionage- The obtaining of secret or confidential information without the permission of the holder of the information
Cybernetics in daily life by Julija Arbačiauskaitė In this summary I will present an overview of the topics where cybernetics unexceptional use in some people life is described. The following text analysis was conducted in order to show a few concrete examples where people use cybernetics. This summary shows significance of cybernetics scientific discoveries. The key terms Cybernetics - the scientific study of communication and control, especially concerned with comparing human and animal brains with machines and electronic devices.
